Our Mission
The mission of the Pennington Biomedical Evaluation Unit is to improve the health and well-being of human populations through collaborating on the evaluation of public health programs by increasing capacity, engaging in rigorous research, and disseminating lessons learned.
Our mission is accomplished by:
- Collaborating: Working in partnership with a variety of community and state-wide agencies and organizations throughout Louisiana.
- Increasing Capacity: Effecting stakeholder-driven, continuous program improvements by empowering stakeholders to ask relevant questions, collect reasonable and appropriate information, and interpret results to make informed decisions.
- Engaging in Rigorous Research: Conducting systematic, evidence -based research and analysis that conforms to the highest professional and technical standards; interpreting/presenting clear and useful results.
- Disseminating Lessons Learned: Synthesizing, assessing, and communicating evidence discovered in the evaluation process to contribute to the body of knowledge used to inform interventions and policies aimed at improving public health.
